Safe Inside research – email response
We debated whether to include this entry as the response does not include agreement to switch to a FFP2/3 mask, which is our primary criteria. However the overall response demonstrates a strong focus on infection risk reduction and the response itself demonstrates a caring culture. There are a lot of mitigations that will reduce infection risk and we would suggest still asking about the FFP3 when booking and/or in person when attending, take one and hand it over.
Response received:
So that you can reassure the person you care for I would like to inform you of the measures we have in place as standard:
– Procedural risk mitigation for all microbes
– High speed suction
– Rubber dam
– Slow speed where necessary
– Environmental risk mitigation
– PPE: fluid resistant mask and full face visor
– Cross infection control standards
We have further measure that we can put in place for a patient who may be more nervous due to being immune compromised:
– Wait in car until called to go straight to surgery to avoid sitting in waiting area
– Surgery window opened
– Air purifier operational

use NHS masks. Wipe everything down. Leave windows open.
Member of staff I spoke to had no idea what a Covid mitigation is
Or what airborne transmission is.
